i was home alone.
mike was at soccer.
and i made some tea in the microwave
and blew a fuse
the apt became silent
the lights/tv/computer stopped
and it was me and the cats
and candle light.
i had no way to restart the fuse, we needed to go out looking for a new one. luckily mike came home from soccer early, so i wasnt home alone that long.

christmas and softie.
i have a stuffed dog (though i will admit it looks more like a funny looking bear with a pug tail) that I have had for like 20 years. i got this bear for christmas and have called it that since then. (real orginal i know)
this bear has lived with me in ever home i have lived at. it is very comforting to me. i feel like it knows me. and the smell is a familiar home smell.
i also have a blanket....
yah yah yah
i like being happy.
moving on up.
to 7th avenue. yayayayyaya. we got the dream place. (well for a new york apt)
funny how if i saw this place in any other state i would take one look at it and say no way. funny how the place was tiny, and filled with another families mess and still i only needed 5 seconds to look at it and say.. this is it!
so we agreed on a lease for 1500 a month for 1 year by looking at a dirty place for 10...
this is the monologue
that got me into drama 3. i dont remember how much of it i had to act out, but i do remember the first paragraph.
The Lark (1953) by Jean Anouilh Part I: Rouen, France, early fifteenth century. Joan of Arc is on trial for heresy and witchcraft and begins her defense with this speech before her judges, the English Earl of Warwick and Cauchon, the French Bishop of Beauvais. Joan: May I begin...
so i watched
the movie sliding doors.
and it was basically about life. and how things happen. and the movie is told in 2 views. one view where the main character misses her subway train by seconds and then walks outside to get a taxi, gets mugged, goes to hospital, etc. and gets home way late.
the other view is the girl gets on the train, makes it home, and catches her boyfriend cheating on her.
in the...

germ a phob.
so many kids in my class have pink eye. it is making me an insane, germ hating, non-touching teacher.
UGH. pink eye pink eye go away. never come back.
rental car-- booked.
boy and i are going home for the holidays. we booked our rental car today. we have to drive as opposed to fly because we are taking dakota and queen home with us. i am sure this will be a fun car ride.
it was very warm today, nice. i hope it stays like that a few more days. it really makes it much easier to walk to work when it isnt freezing cold.
its christmas time in the city
i want to go to see the big tree in rockefeller center. i love the feelings of good will and kindness during this time.
more things i love about ny:
all types of people everywhere
seeing tourist who are excited about checking out the city
old buildings with beautiful architecture
being able to walk EVERYWHERE
today.
mike took me to soho to look at his new office and a few projects he is working on downtown. it was FREEZING today. we walked around soho, went to a cafe and got some green tea and coffee, then went to a few stores. we got hungry and cold so we went on a search for a place to eat and warm up. we started to walk uptown and stopped at a diner. once we were in the diner we realized we had been here...

good morning sun.
one of my favorite things to do since i moved to new york is people watch. i like to observe people and see what they do or think about what they are thinking.
sometimes, if i see someone i so badly want to talk to them, cheer them up, see how their day was. i like the moment of interaction when eye contact is made. a simple smile, or a nod is exchanged- that one momemt of human interaction with...

Aesop's Fables →
i remember… growing up my father used to tell me these little stories or fables. he had a book of them and every once in a while if i was upset or happy or explaining something someone did in school, he would say.. “this reminds me of a story”…. i used to love these stories, and looking back so many of them are such great life lessons. each fable has a meaningful lesson told in an interesting...
