Aesop's Fables

i remember… growing up my father used to tell me these little stories or fables. he had a book of them and every once in a while if i was upset or happy or explaining something someone did in school, he would say.. “this reminds me of a story”…. i used to love these stories, and looking back so many of them are such great life lessons. each fable has a meaningful  lesson told in an interesting unique way. i am older now. and these stories are perhaps even more meaningful then they were when i was a child.  check some of them out…

here is an example of one:

 The Dove and the Ant

An Ant, going to a river to drink, fell in, and was carried along in
the stream. A Dove pitied her condition, and threw into the river a
small bough, by means of which the Ant gained the shore. The Ant
afterward, seeing a man with a fowling-piece aiming at the Dove, stung
him in the foot sharply, and made him miss his aim, and so saved the
Dove's life.
