so i watched
the movie sliding doors.
and it was basically about life. and how things happen. and the movie is told in 2 views. one view where the main character misses her subway train by seconds and then walks outside to get a taxi, gets mugged, goes to hospital, etc. and gets home way late.
the other view is the girl gets on the train, makes it home, and catches her boyfriend cheating on her.
in the end you see each story unravel and as mikey put it.. the story goes that she was meant to be with the person she ended up with either way the story would have happened.
